El Madroñal is situated in the municipality of Benahavis, province of Malaga, half-way between Malaga and Gibraltar, in the foothills of the Sierra de Ronda. El Madroñal was originally a private estate called Monte de Alcuzcuz, owned by the Parlade family, who founded in the early 60´s El Madroñal S.A. with a British Shareholding company. The total area of Madroñal is 223 hectares, one third of the estate is a green area and the other two thirds is divided into large plots including La Heredia, a residential complex of villas and townhouses, which has been built in the style of a traditional Andalusian village with cobbled streets, beautiful squares with fountains and abundance of flowers and colors.
